Lesbos is one of the largest islands in the Aegean, featuring several vital nautical hubs. The most spectacular inland activity is exploring the historic town of Molyvos in the north, famous for its stone-built houses, marble alleys, and imposing castle views. On the western side of the island lies the "Petrified Forest," a rare global natural wonder that is an absolute must-visit. On the water, swimming in the areas inside the Gulf of Gera where natural thermal hot springs meet the sea, or relaxing on the southern beaches, are top highlights.

With over 11 million olive trees, Lesbos is remarkably green, featuring a landscape of silvery olive groves, dense pine forests, and volcanic formations. As the ancient home of the famous lyric poet Sappho, the island boasts a rich literary and artistic heritage. The architecture presents a unique mosaic of grand Venetian and Ottoman castles, neoclassical mansions, and industrial historical sites like old olive oil factories converted into cultural centers.

Given the island's immense size, renting a car or motorcycle is highly recommended to explore the mountain villages, the inland gulfs, and the Petrified Forest.
