Logistics & Technical

The harbor of Chora is a major maritime hub. While it offers solid protection from the Meltemi, the primary technical challenge is the surge caused by high-speed ferries. It is essential to use mooring snubbers to absorb the constant movement and keep a safe distance from the concrete quay. Water and electricity are available, but berths are limited and fill up by early afternoon. Navigators should remain vigilant of the shallow reefs located just north of the entrance and around the Portara islet.
