Logistics & Technical

Paxos is a dream for sailors, but its popularity requires strategic planning. The main port, Gaios, is hidden behind two small islets, creating a fjord-like entrance that is stunning but narrow. Yachts usually moor stern-to along the town quay. In the north, Lakka offers a wide, circular bay with a sandy bottom and electric-blue water, perfect for anchoring, though it can become choppy with northerly winds. Loggos on the east coast is smaller and more intimate. The western coast is dramatic with massive cliffs and "blue caves," suitable only for daytime exploration due to the lack of shelter.

Captain's Note

“
"Approaching Gaios through the narrow channel between the island and the islet of Agios Nikolaos is one of the most iconic sights in Greece. Be sure to arrive early in the afternoon, as the town quay fills up quickly."
