Logistics & Technical

Nidri is the most prominent sailing hub on the east coast of Lefkada. It is a vast natural harbor protected by a cluster of offshore islands, including Madouri and Skorpios, creating a safe and lake-like environment. The town quay is extensive and offers water and electricity, but it fills up very quickly with charter fleets and local boats. The bottom is a mix of mud and sand, providing excellent holding for anchors. If the quay is full, the nearby Vliho Bay provides a massive, secure anchorage area. Navigators should be vigilant about the heavy traffic of ferries and day-cruise boats constantly moving in the channel.

“
"Nidri is the practical soul of the Ionian. While the quay is where the action is, anchoring in Vliho Bay gives you a more peaceful perspective of the majestic mountains. It’s the perfect place to fix a gear or stock up for a long journey south."
