Logistics & Technical

The bay offers excellent holding ground in 10-15 meters on a seabed primarily composed of sand and patches of seagrass (Posidonia oceanica). Vessels should exercise caution regarding the subterranean remains of the ancient harbor walls at the entrance. The bay provides superior protection against the prevailing Meltemi (NW) winds, although the southern entrance remains exposed to southerly swells. It is advised to use the jetties provided by local establishments or anchor with a long line to the shore in the northern bights.
