Logistics & Technical

The Mourtos Islands (Agios Nikolaos, Mourtemeno, and Bella Vraka) are located right in front of Sivota. Technically, this is a delicate navigation area where depths between islands can drop to 2-3 meters. The most popular anchorage is the Blue Lagoon between Agios Nikolaos and Mourtemeno. The seabed is white sand, offering excellent holding. The islands provide good shelter from northerly and westerly winds, though the outer sides are exposed to westerly swells. For overnight stays, the Sivota town quay or the inner bays of the islands are the safest options.

Gastronomy & Social Life

There are no settlements on the islands, so social life is concentrated in the town of Sivota across the water. Sivota is one of the most "posh" spots in the Ionian, with elegant restaurants and boutique cafes along its lively promenade. After a day at the islands, dining on fresh seafood and local Greek wines in Sivota is the quintessential experience.

Captain's Note

“
"Navigating through the lagoons of Mourtos feels like being in the tropics. However, beware of the shallows between islands; even if the water color mesmerizes you, keep an eye on your depth sounder."
