Kargı Koyu is highly celebrated for providing superior, absolute shelter from the dominant and fierce northerly Meltemi winds, which are effectively blocked by the high northern ridges. However, the anchorage remains completely open and highly vulnerable to southerly, southwesterly, and southeasterly swells.
