Antiparos

Located just west of Paros, Antiparos is the destination for those seeking tranquility with its bohemian atmosphere, whitewashed narrow streets, and crystal-clear bays. For yacht charter guests, while the main port is small, the Despotiko channel and the sea caves in the south of the island offer magnificent anchoring spots. On blue cruise itineraries, the famous Cave of Antiparos—home to Europe's oldest stalactites—and the ancient ruins on the uninhabited island of Despotiko are must-sees. On this chic island, you can crown your day with local Aegean cuisine and fresh seafood at the gourmet restaurants lining the harbor.

Logistics & Technical

The anchorage off the main port offers a reliable sandy seabed with excellent holding, though it can be exposed to the "Meltemi" winds. The narrow strait between Paros and Antiparos requires careful navigation due to its shallows. For more seclusion, the bay of Despotiko to the south is a popular choice, providing a large, safe, and lake-like anchorage with crystal-clear turquoise waters.

Personal Insight

Captain's Note

“
"Anchor in the channel for the best people-watching or sail south to Despotiko. The silence there, next to Apollo’s ruins, is the true Aegean luxury."
