Logistics & Technical

The primary anchorage is located in the narrow channel between the island and the mainland, with depths varying significantly from 15 to 30 meters. The seabed is a complex matrix of sand and rocky patches, requiring careful sonar monitoring to ensure the anchor is not fouled by submerged ancient structures. The channel provides excellent shelter from the prevailing NW winds, though it can become venturi-channeled, increasing wind speeds. Stern-to mooring with long lines to the island's rocks is the standard procedure.
