Bencik is legendary for its protection; it’s like a lake inside a forest. The bay is long and narrow, providing perfect shelter from almost all winds. Most yachts moor by dropping anchor and taking long lines to the pine trees on the shore. The bottom is mostly sand and weed with excellent holding. It is the ultimate "safety net" when the Meltemi gets too rough in the open Gulf.
