Amorgos

As the easternmost island of the Cyclades, Amorgos is a premier destination for yacht charter enthusiasts seeking authentic Greek beauty. Famous for its crystal-clear turquoise waters and dramatic cliffs, it offers a perfect backdrop for a blue cruise adventure. The island is home to historic monasteries perched high above the sea and charming traditional villages. Sailors will find serene bays with exceptional water quality, ideal for swimming and diving. The local waterfront taverns provide a taste of Aegean culture in a sophisticated yet rustic setting, making it a highlight of any Mediterranean sailing itinerary.

Logistics & Technical

Amorgos has two main ports: Katapola, which is more protected, and Aegiali. Both are subject to the strong "Meltemi" winds, so careful anchoring and line management are crucial. The water is deep and exceptionally clear, but sailors should be prepared for sudden gusts coming off the high mountains. The holding is generally good on a sandy and weedy bottom.

Gastronomy & Social Life

The island is famous for "Psimeni Raki," a local honey-infused spirit that warms the soul. Dining in the Chora or the ports focuses on authentic Cycladic flavors—fava, local cheeses, and goat stews. The social life is intellectual and bohemian, centered around quiet bars with sunset views rather than loud clubs.
