Tersane Island

Tersane Island is the largest island in the Gulf of Gocek and one of the most significant historical stops on blue cruise itineraries. Named after the old shipyards used during the Ottoman period, the area offers yacht charter enthusiasts the chance to swim among ancient ruins. Known for its sheltered harbor, nature covered with olive trees, and high sea quality, the island is a unique anchorage point for both history buffs and sailors seeking serenity. Local establishments on the shoreline provide guests with dinners prepared with fresh products in a historical atmosphere.

Logistics & Technical

The island is famous for its "Winter Bay" (Kış Limanı), which provides exceptional protection from almost all winds, making it a fortress for yachts. The water is deep and dark blue in the center but turns into a bright turquoise near the shore. Mooring is typically done stern-to with lines tied to the ancient ruins or sturdy rocks, offering a very secure overnight stay.

Gastronomy & Social Life

Social life on Tersane Island flows in a serene, refined, and historical atmosphere. Deep inside Winter Harbor, hidden among olive trees and ancient ruins, sits a rustic yet highly legendary waterfront restaurant popular among international sailors. It serves fresh Mediterranean seafood, slow-cooked goat, local olive oil mezes, and hot stone-oven bread. In the evening, inside Göcek’s most sheltered waters, dining against the silhouette of ancient watchtowers beneath the soft deck lights of docked yachts is a classic Blue Cruise social ritual.

Practical Info

Limited water service can be provided when docking at the small wooden jetty of the restaurant inside Winter Harbor, but there are no independent marina facilities or fuel stations on the island. It is a protected natural site, so ensure your yacht's provisioning and water tanks are sufficient if spending nights at anchor. Mobile phone and internet signals function perfectly. The main marinas of Göcek town center are just 6 miles away for fuel or major support. Its pool-like waters are highly comfortable for families.
