Oludeniz

Oludeniz is a unique natural wonder located near Fethiye, known as one of the most photographed beaches in the world with its turquoise waters. As one of the most prestigious stops on yacht charter and blue cruise itineraries, the region is famous for its "Blue Lagoon," which remains calm even on stormy days, and Belcekiz Beach. Its crystal-clear sea and the imposing view of Mount Babadag rising right behind it offer visitors both a peaceful swimming break and the pleasure of watching paragliders. Known for its untouched nature and high sea quality, the local establishments in the area provide guests with fresh seafood and distinguished flavors of world cuisine.

Logistics & Technical

: Ölüdeniz consists of two main areas: the open Belcekız Beach and the protected Blue Lagoon. Entry of motorized yachts into the inner lagoon is strictly prohibited to protect the ecosystem. Yachts usually anchor off Belcekız or in the nearby sheltered bays of Gemile Island. The area in front of the main beach is sandy and deep but highly exposed to westerly and southerly swells, making it uncomfortable for overnight stays. It is best used as a daytime stop for swimming and taking in the scenery.

Practical Info

There are no marina facilities (water, electricity, fuel) for yachts at Ölüdeniz. For provisioning and technical needs, one must return to Fethiye or Göcek. Access to the inner lagoon area (Kumburnu) is regulated and requires an entry fee for shore visitors. The shallow, still waters of the lagoon are perfect for families with young children.

Personal Insight

Captain's Note

“
"Anchoring off the world’s most photographed beach is a privilege. Enjoy the electric blue of the water during the day, but make sure to head towards the shelter of Gemile Island before the evening swells kick in."
