Day 1: BODRUM
Boarding starts by 15:30 from Bodrum Harbour. Guests who arrive early can leave their luggage at the Barbaros Yachting Office. On the first day, our boat will be anchored in Bodrum Port for dinner and an overnight stay. Bodrum has a history that goes back to the 12th century B.C. The city which was called ‘Halicarnassus’ was the birthplace of Herodotus; the ‘Father of History’ who lived in the 5th century B.C. The ‘Mausoleum’ of King Mausolus (350 B.C.) one of the Seven Wonders of the World is in this city. The only structure that survived from the Classical Era is the Amphitheatre. It is one of the oldest theatres in Anatolia with a capacity of 13.000 guests and it is still hosting many shows and concerts for the art-lovers of Bodrum. Another place that you should visit when you arrive in Bodrum is the landmark of the city, the ‘Castle of Saint Peter’. It is one of the best preserved pieces of architecture with a history dating back to the Middle Ages. ‘Myndos Gate’ through which Alexander the Great entered Halicarnassus is another place that you should not miss.
Day 2: KNIDOS – MERSİNCİK
Early in the morning, we will cruise to Knidos. If the weather conditions permit, we can use the sail on the way. Cnidus was a developed city in science, art and architecture. Eudoxos, a very popular astronomer and maths professor; Dr. Euryphon; Polygontos, a popular painter; Skopas and Bryaksis of Faros, the most famous sculptors of the era; Sostrates, the architect of Alexandrian light house -one of the seven wonders of the World- and Ktesias the doctor, who saved the life of a Persian king from a disaster, lived on this island. Dr. Euryphon and his students founded the second biggest medical science school in Cnidus. The island also hosts the largest sun clock of its time which was erected by Eudoksos. Knidos was the home for Aphrodite’s monument and in those times the city was famous for brothels and became popular for sailors and Arabic tradesmen. You may also take a walk on the shore to see the ruins. Then we will cruise to Mersincik for dinner and an overnight stay. If the weather conditions permit, we can use the sails on the way.
Day 3: ÇATI – SEVEN ISLANDS
Early in the morning, we will move to Çatı Bay where you will have your breakfast. It is a pleasant bay which is located at the southern part of the Gulf of Gökova and surrounded by the pine trees. Then we will cruise to Seven Islands for lunch. You will experience another excellent day in the Seven Islands Region. In this region which is full of many small islands and coral reef; it is recommended that you should dive, swim, sleep and rest. Our guests can also enjoy a walk in the forests which are filled with pine trees. Our first stop in Seven Islands Region will be Küfre Bay. Then we will be anchoring in Uzun Liman (Long Port) for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: TUZLA – LÖNGÖZ – ENGLISH HARBOUR
The gulet will be anchoring in Tuzla Bay to enjoy a swimming break in the turquoise- blue waters. Breakfast will be served here. For lunch, our captain will cruise to Löngöz Bay; another place like paradise which is sheltered with huge pine forests. After lunch, you can enjoy a short walk in the forest and take a rest in Ali Baba’s local shed-like cafe. Later we will cruise to English Port for dinner and an overnight stay. The name English Port comes from the time of 2nd World War when the ships of English Navy forces used to dock here. In this area, there are so many small and large bays which are suitable and sheltered enough to anchor for the boats.
Day 5: AKBÜK – CLEOPATRA ISLAND – KARACASÖĞÜT
Early in the morning, we will cruise to Akbük. If the weather conditions permit, we can use the sails on the way. Later we will cruise to Sedir (Cedrae) Island and tea time service will be given here. This unique island with its small beach and unbelievable clear water is like an open-air museum. You can see the city walls, the ruins from the Dorians’ reign (later restorated as a church); the amphitheatre with 1500 guest capacity and some vaulted historical buildings. You can walk around the wrecks of pillars with antique writings on them or the ancient stones decorated with reliefs. Cleopatra beach, located on this island has a very special kind of sand that can only be found in the deserts of Northern Africa. According to the myth, King Antonius brought the sand from Egypt by sea for Cleopatra. Later we will anchor at Karacasöğüt for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 6: KARGILI – ÇÖKERTME
We will be in Kargılı Bay (Molla İbrahim Bay) early in the morning. After lunch and a swimming break in Kargılı, we will cruise to Çökertme. For dinner and an overnight stay, we will be anchoring at Çökertme Bay.
Day 7: KİSEBÜKÜ – ORAK ISLAND – YALIÇİFTLİK – BODRUM
Early in the morning, we will cruise to Kisebükü (Alakışla Bükü).You can see the ruins of Byzantines there. Later we will move to Orak Island. After you take the opportunity of swimming in the crystal-blue waters of Orak Island and enjoying lunch, we will anchor in Yalıçiftlik for tea and cakes. Then our boat will be cruise back to Bodrum Port for the last day’s dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 8: BODRUM
The guests will leave the boat with precious memories by 10:30 after breakfast.
