    Description

Weatherbird stands as a bespoke masterpiece, a classic 2-masted French schooner meticulously crafted for the dynamic duo, Sara and Gerald Murphy—a pair known for their cosmopolitan adventures. This vessel etched its name in maritime history by hosting luminaries such as Zelda and F. Scott Fitzgerald, Cole Porter, Ernest Hemingway, Dorothy Parker, and Pablo Picasso during its voyages through the Mediterranean. The year 1931 witnessed its creation at the renowned Chantelot & Lemaistre shipyard in Chantiers Navals De Normandie, under the visionary design of Russian aristocrat Victor Orloff and Heni Rambaud. A floating embodiment of the opulent artistic aristocracy of its era, it epitomizes the sought-after art deco style.

With a length of 31 meters (100 feet), a beam of 20 feet, and a draft of 12 feet, Weatherbird exudes elegance with its oak hull, teak deck, and wheelhouse, creating an atmosphere of innate sophistication. Its recent 2022 refit, orchestrated by its new owner with meticulous attention, preserves the essence of its original design while infusing modern elements, transforming it into a timeless classic.

The seamless blend of classic allure and contemporary luxury defines Weatherbird. High-tech features seamlessly intertwine with pristine furnishings to offer unparalleled comfort. Accommodating 8 guests across 4 staterooms adorned with Ralph Lauren linen and bespoke brass & silver hardware, it pays homage to the glamour of the 1930s. Touch-screen panels orchestrate audio/visual experiences and various lighting ”scenes,” complemented by the warmth of an electric fireplace at the touch of a button. The salon table, doubling as a Yamaha F01 piano, provides panoramic views, inviting a harmonious indoor retreat. Based in Athens, Greece, Weatherbird now welcomes charters in the East Mediterranean, beckoning those enchanted by old-world glamour, a contemplative lifestyle, and the rustic allure of the intersection between East and West. A dedicated crew of 4 stands ready to elevate every moment aboard this floating testament to grace and sophistication.
